In its 43rd year, the Southern Oregon Home Show has a new addition

CENTRAL POINT, Ore — The Southern Oregon Home Show returns to the Jackson County Expo this weekend. It will be the 43rd such event put on by Builders Association Southern Oregon, or BASO. After over four decades of raising awareness, educating, and providing resources for Southern Oregon homeowners and builders through the home show, this year they are excited to add a dedicated garden center to the list of things to get excited about. BASO interim executive director Brad Hicks stopped by Sunrise this morning to talk with Emily Storm about the 43rd annual, yet freshly-titled, Southern Oregon Home and Garden Show.

Builders, contractors, subcontractors, and more will be on hand to share the latest innovations in homebuilding and renovation. With the addition of the new garden section this year, the Southern Oregon Home and Garden Show will have over 175 vendors total, making this the largest event of its kind in our region. Hicks says that this year’s show has already surpassed their previous record for sponsors attached and money raised. As interim director, this is Hicks’ first year heading the organization during the planning of this show, but he says his favorite thing about it is how it funds everything they do throughout the year. Amid the potential for uncertainty in regards to tariffs and the cost of building materials, Hicks says it’s a good sign that so many individuals and organizations tied to the homebuilding industry are excitedly participating.

The 43rd annual Southern Oregon Home and Garden Show is happening at the Jackson County Expo starting this Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., then Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., closing Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.. Admission is five dollars for adults, and that ticket is good for all three days. Kids 12 and under get in free. For more information, call (541) 773-2872, or visit the Builders Association Southern Oregon website.
